The Pannon Sea Repository of Geological History and Natural History presents the visitor with the residues and artefacts of the tertiary and quaternary periods of geological history. The primary aim of the exhibition is to collect, research, preserve and present geological and paleontological relics.
1) one-of-a-kind artifacts
The Pannon Sea Museum enables viewing such one-of-a-kind artefacts and relics of geological history as the silicified tree trunks of Ipolytarnóc, which are unique not only in terms of Miskolc and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county but in the world as well.

Artefacts from the tertiary and quaternary periods of geological history may take us back to 20 million years ago.

Besides its permanent exhibitions, the Pannon Sea Repository of Geological History and Natural History awaits inquisitive visitors with constantly changing temporary exhibitions and other programmes.

The Pannon Sea Museum operates under the auspices of the Herman Ottó Museum, visitors may therefore not only view the one-of-a-kind artifacts of this exhibition but other cultural and historic artefacts exhibited by the Museum as well.
