Déryné Statue

The National Theatre of Miskolc is the first hungarian stone theatre which was built between 1847 and 1857. The building gave home to the performances of Róza Széppataki Déryné who was an outstanding figure of the hungarian opera and cultural life. She played in different roles even before the theatre made ready. The statue of the famos actress can be found in the Garden of Déryné since 1995.

The bronze statue of the legendary actress was designed by Erzsébet Schaár, sculptor from Budapest.

The onetime house of the famous opera singer now function as a museum next to the Castle of Diósgyőr. Her grave can be viewed at the graveyard of the Saint Anna Church.
