Among the chestnut trees of People’s Garden standing the statue of Queen Elizabeth, which was made in 1899 by Alajos Strobl. In Hungary this staue is the first creation inspired by Queen Elizabeth.

Sissi

The full name of Quees Elizabeth is Eugenia Amalia Elizabeth, but most person only know her as Sissi. As the wife of Joseph Ferenc, she was the Queen of Hungary and Empress of Austria. She had a warm heart and felt deep love with the nation so everybode adored her.  Since then Sisi still the favourite historic person for many people.
