“Avas” Wine Festival

Location: Miskolc, Avas cellar rows

More than 800 cellars and winehouses are located on the northern slope of the Avas Hill, in the very heart of the city of Miskolc, what is unpaired in whole Europe. Many of them are 300-400 years old. Two emblematic buildings of Miskolc are also here: the Avas Lookout tower and the medieval Avas Calvinist Church together with the attached cemetery under historical protection. The “Avas” Wine Festival will be on this historic site. Wine will be provided not only by the local producers but also by vineries invited from the important wine regions of Hungary, together with delicious food and cosy cellar-bands.
